“A natural drug odyssey is another way of saying living life.”

— CHRISTOPHER PICK

BIOGRAPHY

Natural Drug Odyssey makes music from the chemistry of being alive. No substances, just the highs and lows the body already makes: the dopamine of wanting, the adrenaline of fear, the oxytocin of love, the bliss at the edge of everything.

Every song is a dose. Every album is a chapter, a concept record with its own film, its own palette, and its own frequency. Over a lifetime, twenty-four of them will travel from the cosmos down to a single person, then inward to the molecule.

Christopher Pick is a polymath from Northern California: multi-instrumentalist, technologist, fund manager, writer, painter, speaker, author and welder. Guitar came first; synths took hold after. He loves every genre and blends them freely, choosing sounds by whichever natural drug a song needs to stimulate.

THE PROCESS

Where the doses are made.

01Every song starts from its frequency. The track is tuned so its home note lands on the chemical’s tone.
02Each album blends three genres: one for the body, one for the emotion, one for the world it lives in.
03Songs are written as scenes, so the album plays as one continuous story and becomes a film.

Say hello.
